We are so proud to share with everyone the wonderful opportunity we experienced of helping The Home Depot's Children's Foundation "Believe In Tomorrow". We had lots of fun working on this project, and already looking forward to volunteering in the future! Check out some of the photos at the bottom...
Many of you may not be aware, but two great things happened in the year 1986. Counter Intelligence was born, but also "Believe In Tomorrow" Children's Foundation. Now, almost twenty seven years later, the two cross paths, and Counter Intelligence is given an exceptional opportunity to volunteer for the kitchen remodeling project at the Home Depot's Children's Foundation House at Johns Hopkins.
Believe In Tomorrow has a profound objective that we, as parents, share and value in the utmost sincerity. Believe In Tomorrow believes in keeping families together during a child's medical crisis, and that the gentle cadence of normal family life has a powerful influence on the healing process.
Although we were just a small part in this great initiative by the foundation, we were happy to participate in donating construction and remodeling services, as well as Silestone countertops for two kitchens in one of the homes adopted by the foundation. We even received the "Super Hero Award" earned by our super team member and project manager Oscar Westgaard. Here's what the award says:
"Acting as project manager for the 2013 kitchen renovation at the Believe In Tomorrow Children's House at Johns Hopkins, Oscar Westgaard went above and beyond to make sure each step of the project was successfully completed with the utmost consideration for our families during the process. Oscar was the key player in the success of the kitchen renovation; without him, the kitchen simply would not be as beautiful and family-friendly as they are today."
Needless to say, we are very proud of Oscar's achievement, as this is the type of behavior we foster, believe in, and cultivate at Counter Intelligence.
Just wanted to let everyone know that our Super Hero Award is now nicely displaying back at our Silver Spring Maryland office. Sitting right above Oscar's desk reminding us this very special moment. Never miss an opportunity to help others. We believe that.
